How can organisations make their real estate more efficient without compromising the workplace experience? Many large organisations face a dual challenge: reducing square metres and costs while ensuring the workplace better reflects how employees actually work.

In this webinar, representatives from Rijksoverheid, Rabobank and Spacewell share their practical experience and perspectives. Together, they will explore which data is useful, how to substantiate investment decisions, how to establish a data-driven programme internally and which obstacles organisations may encounter along the way.

What to expect

Sustainable real-estate optimisation starts with understanding how people truly use the workplace. The same data is also essential to improving the workplace experience: it can reveal occupancy, usage patterns, the demand for different types of spaces and the gap between perceived busyness and actual utilisation.

Moderated by Wim Kooyman of Smart WorkPlace, the discussion features Paul Pegels of Rijksoverheid, Pim Macke of Rabobank and Gilles Ghyssaert of Spacewell. They will explore three core propositions:

  • First understand how the office is used, then determine how much office space you need.
  • Data turns a real-estate discussion into a well-founded decision.
  • The greatest challenge of data-driven real estate is not technology, but the organisation.

The session will address practical considerations including data quality, governance, internal support, privacy, resistance to change, ROI and the evolving responsibilities of Facility Management, Real Estate and IT.
