We are currently looking for an IoT Engineer for our office in Antwerp, Belgium.

You will play a key role in our IoT  team to expand our footprint and continue our successful growth. This is a unique opportunity to further develop key technical & IoT skills, including TTN LNS (TTES v3.12 and up).

Through both training & coaching from seasoned IoT professionals, and on the job experience, you will learn how to successfully research, evaluate, prototype, and roll out new innovative IoT solutions for Smart buildings

The key responsibilities

  • Research, evaluate, prototype, and roll out new innovative IoT solutions for Smart buildings
  • Support in comprehensive technical studies, trials, and evaluations of new IoT-related infrastructure, and performance monitoring tools.
  • Manage Supplier selection and sourcing
  • Manage hardware logistics
  • Execute or coordinate roll-out at clients
  • Manage relationship with platform partners
  • Set up and monitor technical communication channels from Sensor install base
  • Document and communicate IoT solutions to the team
  • Coordinate / work with deployment teams and partners
  • Work with the Cobundu product team to ensure that IoT technologies meet security standards and best practices
  • You will follow a comprehensive training program to learn all there is to know about Spacewell’s  IoT sensor hardware. You will have the opportunity to work with a highly motivated international product team in a challenging and very dynamic environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you have experience with IoT technologies, eg with designing IoT systems with a working knowledge of related infrastructure and working knowledge of security frameworks and enterprise architecture for IoT is a plus.

  • Degree in IT/computer science, computer/electronical engineering, or equivalent experience in IoT engineering
  • Hands-on mentality and pragmatic problem solver, not afraid to get your hands dirty on helping during a sensor installation campaign.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • High sense of ownership and commitment
  • Skilled at working on multiple, simultaneous projects of complex nature
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Curious attitude and a tendency to see the bigger picture
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable communicating with clients in both technical and non-technical terms
  • Relevant experience is a plus :
    • Experience with IoT technologies, eg with designing IoT systems with a working knowledge of related infrastructure
    • Experience with advising vendors in the prototyping of IoT technologies to demonstrate conceptual operation and assess technical feasibility
    • Knowledge on IoT communication platforms and mechanisms (LoRaWAN-LNS, MQTT, …)
    • Experience with TTN LNS (TTES v3.12 and up)
    • Knowledge on transmission signal analysis (RSSI, SNR, DR, SF) and coverage analysis
    • Experience with remote management of devices, ssh, reverse tunnelling, multiplexing TCP tunnels, etc.
    • Experience with local area network infrastructure, and assessing the impact of firewall rules, VPN, etc. in the network
    • Working knowledge of security frameworks and enterprise architecture for IoT is a plus
  • Ability to read simple programs and scripts (Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Bash scripting, …)
  • Knowledge the English language, Dutch is a plus
  • A driver’s license
